The City of Kanazawa promotes "Cycle & Ride" as a part of its Omnibus Town Plan.
"Cycle & Ride" is the system which encourages you to go to TRansit stations or bus stops by bicycle and catch a TRain or a bus there to go to your destination. This helps reduce automobile inflow to the downtown area and promotes the use of the public TRansportation. Bicycle parking lots are provided at all the TRansit stations and at key bus stops in the downtown and suburban area. Parking lots will increase in number expectedly at the rate of one to three more locations every year.
If your house or destination is far from the TRansit station or bus stop, you can go there by bicycle and catch a TRain or bus to go to your destination.
