West Geisha Call Office
National Registered Tangible Cultural Property
English
This building was built in 1922 as a management office and training hall for geigi (geisha) in the Nishi Chaya district. It is now a registered tangible cultural property of Japan.
The Western-style building in the front is the office, and the Japanese-style building in the back is the practice room. The light blue Western-style design stands out in this area which is full of chaya teahouse architecture. The design and decoration eaves of the roof over the porch in front of the entrance is one of the building’s highlights.
