Jotokuji Temple Bell
The temple bell of Jotokuji Temple was made in 1673 by the first genertion Miyazaki Kanchi. He was a famous metal caster in the first half of the 17th century. He studied the art of crafting chagama (tea kettles used during tea ceremony) in Kyoto, and later served under the Kaga Clan, where he left behind many outstanding works of art.
This temple bell is one of his creations, and it is a masterpiece of metal casting technique and beautiful modeling.
