Koganji Temple Main Hall
Based on its munafuda (wooden plaque with written construction records), the main hall of Koganji Temple is known to have been built in 1861. In addition, there are a total of seven munafada plaques for the former main hall and bell-tower, which together with the main hall, have been designated as Kanazawa City Cultural Properties.
The large front gable is beautifully decorated with structural support beams called kaerumata and ebikoryo. In addition, the steep slope of the roof is an indication that tile roofing was originally used. This demonstrates the development process of the roofs in the temple architecture of Kanazawa.
